Day 7: Monaco

We took a train from Nice to Monaco. Two return tickets for 8 euros is a bargain! The trains arrive into the underground station (cleanest, beyond compare) carved into a mountain, so you emerge from under the rock into the daylight, facing the poshest marina there is. This is the second smallest country in the world with the population of about thirty thousand, with only a third of these nationals being natives of Monaco.
We visited about 10 days before the Grand Prix. You can see the arena installed on street adjacent to the marina.

Immaculate streets of Monte Carlo

Saint Nicholas Cathedral
As I was fixing my hair staring at my reflection in the store window, Paul swears he saw a Mercedes carrying Mohammed Al Fayed in the passenger's seat leaving the Palace piazza. Celebrity spotted, check!

Mohammed Al Fayed's boat (according to Paul) is in the top right corner.

The Casino

The casino of Monte Carlo is stunning and great for people watching.
