We took it easy on the driving on Day 3 and enjoyed city walks around Avignon and hiking up to Pont du Gard. May 8th is a national holiday in France celebrating the victory over Nazis in the WWII. We saw veterans with their families celebrating and school was definitely out judging from the swarms of school children enjoying the day out at Pont du Gard.
